The Stark County
Sheriff’s Office is experiencing some difficulty with the new Carry Concealed
Weapons laws and requirements.
The law now mandates the Sheriff’s Office to post and
accept applications fifteen (15) hours a week during normal business hours.
This has created some problems. When applicants were required to make an
appointment, they were reminded of all the items needed to make an application.
Individuals are showing up during the fifteen-hour period and many are not
bringing all of the required items in their application packet. This is causing
an unnecessary delay in the process.
There is a new application form available on the
Attorney General’s website .
The Sheriff’s Office will NOT accept payment by cash, personnel checks or
credit card. Only certified check, cashier check and money orders made out
to the Stark County Treasurer will be accepted.
Before coming to the Sheriff’s Office and being
rejected for improper application packet, take a few minutes and ascertain the
items needed by calling 330-451-1383.
